“Killhous,” directed by Liubomyr Levytskyi, is a Ukrainian production from 2026, screened as part of the 11th Ukraïna! Film Festival. The screening will take place on 28 November 2026 at 4:00 PM at Dolnośląskie Centrum Filmowe (Sala Lwów) in Wrocław.
The film is inspired by real events. It follows a married couple of civilians who try to recover their 12-year-old daughter, abducted by Russian forces and taken to occupied territory. While attempting to retrieve the child, they fall into a trap under enemy fire. Their only chance of survival is a novel, multi-level rescue operation using drones.
The story gains worldwide attention through a live broadcast hosted by an American journalist reporting on the fighting of volunteer units. Authentic soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine appear in the lead roles and on set.
