BEZ JACKA to perform in Wrocław!

Stary Klasztor in Wrocław invites lovers of sung poetry, travel songs and the movement known as the Land of Gentleness (Kraina Łagodności) to another music evening. On December 3, the group BEZ JACKA will perform in the Sala Witrażowa. The band performs sung poetry, including settings of poems by Bolesław Leśmian and lyrics by the group's leader, Zbigniew Stefański. Songs named in the announcement include: - “Time of Resurrection” - “Lightness” - “Little Clearing” - “Madonna” The band's name refers to the death of Jacek Stefański. He was killed in 1983 in Gdańsk, beaten by “unknown perpetrators,” and placed on the Helsinki list of victims of martial law. The group was formed in 1974 as KANT by brothers Zbyszek, Jan and Jacek Stefański and Maksymilian Ziętek. Around the turn of the decade, Jan and Jacek returned to their native Gdańsk and performed as Bracia Stefańscy, while Zbyszek stayed in the Kielce region. Jacek's death in August 1983 ended the duo's performances. That is when the name of the group that grew out of KANT was created. Zbigniew Stefański, Jan Stefański and Jarosław “Horacy” Chrząstek decided to play together, and a few months later Krzysztof “Lumbago” Górski joined them.
