The Ewa Środoń Quartet works at the intersection of vocal jazz and original songwriting. The group is led by singer and composer Ewa Środoń-Prokulewicz together with musicians from the young Polish jazz scene. At Ośrodek Działań Twórczych Światowid, the quartet will perform the concert “Colorized” as part of the “Jazz at Światowid” series on 27 November 2026 at 7:00 PM.
The repertoire is built on Ewa Środoń-Prokulewicz's original compositions: personal, melodic forms that blend jazz freedom with lyrical sensitivity and a strong focus on text. The quartet favors a natural, acoustic sound, attention to detail and ensemble interaction, and direct contact with the audience over overproduction. Dialogue is central to its music, both between the musicians and between words and improvisation. The voice is treated not only as a carrier of text but also as a full instrument shaping the improvised structure and dramaturgy of the piece.
The program will feature songs from the quartet's original album “Colorized,” released in March 2026 at Piwnica pod Baranami in Kraków. The group mainly performs in club venues and has also appeared at the Podkarpacka Jazz Autumn festival and in concerts at the Opole Philharmonic and the Concert and Exhibition Centre in Narol.
