Digger

A dark comedy and satire about the most powerful man in the world, who embarks on a desperate mission to prove he is humanity's savior from a catastrophe he caused himself. The main character, Digger Rockwell (played by Tom Cruise), is a flamboyant Texan billionaire and oil magnate. A massive disaster and spill occur on his drilling platform, threatening global security, including a warning about a gigantic glacier. To avoid responsibility and protect his image, the hero makes an absurd attempt to save the planet on his own. The production is often compared to Stanley Kubrick's classic satire “Dr Strangelove,” and the character played by Cruise evokes associations with today's tech and industrial giants, such as Elon Musk.
