Digger

A black comedy and satire about the most powerful man in the world, who embarks on a desperate mission to prove he is humanity's savior from a catastrophe he caused himself. The protagonist, Digger Rockwell (played by Tom Cruise), is a flamboyant Texan billionaire and oil magnate. A major disaster and spill occur on his drilling platform, threatening global security (including a warning about a gigantic glacier). To avoid responsibility and save his image, he undertakes an absurd attempt to save the planet single-handedly. The production is often compared to Stanley Kubrick's classic satirical film “Dr Strangelove,” and the character played by Cruise evokes associations with modern tech-industrial giants (such as Elon Musk).
