“Lachtara. Tęsknota” is a comedy-drama in the style of a road movie, screened as part of the Film Discussion Club (DKF) at the MUZA Cultural Centre in Lubin (Large Hall). The film explores the problems of a modern family torn apart by cultural differences and migration.
The protagonists are a Greek father and his son from Poland. They meet again after years in Athens to divide the family flat in Wałbrzych after the death of their former wife and mother. They share a common loss, but their temperaments, languages and unspoken grievances divide them. Tension is defused by unexpected humor, irony and gruff male tenderness.
Circumstances force the two men to travel together to Poland in an old Polonez, retracing the escape of Greeks fleeing the civil war in 1949. Along the way through Europe, in the shadow of contemporary migration, they try to make up for lost time and learn to be together again.
Practical information: the screening will take place on 25 November 2026 at 7:00 PM. If the event is cancelled, the organizer guarantees an automatic refund.
