“Everything for Sale,” directed by Andrzej Wajda (Poland, 1968), is a self-referential story about the loss of a friend and a great actor. It was a very personal film, for which Wajda wrote the screenplay himself for the first time.
The director reflects on the phenomenon of Zbigniew Cybulski, portrays the local film community and, for the only time in such a direct way, speaks about himself. Wajda's alter ego was played by Andrzej Łapicki, while the other actors infused their characters with their own experiences and personality traits.
After the screening, there will be a meeting with Łukasz Homziuk, a film critic and culture scholar affiliated with the University of Wrocław. He is a laureate of the “Krytyk Pisze” competition (2022) and publishes, among others, in the monthly “Kino” and the biweekly “Czas Kultury”.
