Lachtara. Tęsknota

“Lachtara. Tęsknota” is a film directed by Sebastian Chondrokostas, produced in 2026 in Greece and Poland. The screening will take place on 6 November 2026 at 12:15 at Dolnośląskie Centrum Filmowe (Sala Polonia) in Wrocław. The protagonists are a Greek man and his half-Greek son from Poland, both at a turning point in their lives. After years apart, they meet in Athens to sell the family flat in Wałbrzych following the death of the former wife and mother. They share a common loss but differ in temperament, languages, and unspoken grievances. The tension is often defused by unexpected humor, irony, and rough masculine tenderness. Circumstances force them to travel together to Poland in an old Polonez, following the path of Greeks who fled the civil war in 1949. On the way through Europe, in the shadow of modern migration, they try to make up for lost time and learn to be together again: sometimes awkwardly, sometimes funnily, more often painfully. For the son, it is a belated lesson in male courage and in the history of Greek emigration to Poland. For the father, it is a lesson in responsibility, humility, and closeness, which he never before allowed himself.
