Marcin Kydryński notes that Lisbon has long held a special place in the history of Siesta. Ola Jas is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who, as she writes, has a particular affinity for Lisbon and Lusophone music. Her work includes an album recorded with João de Souza, a duet with Marco Oliveira, an interpretation of “Samba of Loss”, and appearances at Siesta Festival galas: “Bridge of Melancholy” and “Totally Bossa”. In Lisbon she met Luiz Caracol, musical partner of Sara Tavares. Together they recorded Luiz's former hit “Sai (Go)”, and Ola composed the song “Connected” for him. Kydryński calls this “the beginning of a beautiful friendship”. The band was formed in Lisbon by musicians from many cultures.
**Luiz Caracol** is a musician, singer and lyricist. His identity is shaped by the multicultural Lisbon where he lives, and by his ties to the cultures of Portuguese-speaking countries: Angola, Cape Verde and Brazil. Discography to date:
- 2013 – album “Devagar”, with collaborators including Sara Tavares, Fernanda Abreu, Jorge Drexler, Fernando Pessoa and Mia Couto
- 2017 – album “Metade e meia”, with guest appearances by Aline Frazão, Zeki Baleiro, Fred Martins, Paulo Flores, Edu Mundo and José Peixoto
