At the heart of the story is the relationship between the two main characters: full of tenderness, mutual support, and the belief that together they can change the world. The film portrays two people committed to the fight for freedom and democratic change in Poland, who paid a high personal price for their choices.

The film depicts the birth of the democratic opposition, the activities of the Workers' Defence Committee (KOR), and repression by the communist authorities. These are told primarily through the lens of emotions, everyday life, and the characters' relationships.

The cinema release date, 11 November 2026, was chosen as symbolic of a story about freedom, civic responsibility, and the people who helped shape Poland's path to democracy.
