Tenor Roberto Alagna will perform at the Narodowe Forum Muzyki during a gala concert in February. He will be joined by the NFM Choir and the NFM Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra, with the concert conducted by Christian Danowicz, violinist and concertmaster of the orchestra. Alagna last performed at the NFM exactly ten years ago, together with soprano Aleksandra Kurzak.
The singer's repertoire centres on the major French and Italian tenor roles, including:
Alagna also performs less familiar works, such as Franco Alfano's “Cyrano de Bergerac,” Jules Massenet's “The Juggler of Notre Dame” and Édouard Lalo's “Fiesque.” He has also recorded popular and traditional music: Sicilian and Neapolitan songs (the albums “Sicilien” and “Malèna”), Latin American songs (“Pasiòn”) and French songs (“Le chanteur”). In recent years he made his debut in Jean-Félix Lalanne's musical “Al Capone,” in which he played the title role. The organisers therefore promise both classics and rarely performed pieces, along with surprises.
Practical information: the concert programme has not yet been announced. The event is co-organised by Alliance Française.
