On December 13, the 45th anniversary of the introduction of martial law in Poland, the Wrocław Jacek Kaczmarski Salon invites you to a concert in the Sala Gotycka of Stary Klasztor. For the first time in years, the full repertoire of the “Zbroja” program will be performed live. The concert features the combined forces of Kwartet ProForma and Trio łódzko-Chojnowski.
“Zbroja” is one of Jacek Kaczmarski's most important emigré poetry programs. It was created shortly after martial law was introduced. In Poland it became hugely popular thanks to Radio Free Europe broadcasts and cassette tapes copied and distributed illegally in the so-called “second circulation.” Songs from it include:
- “Marsz Intelektualistów”
- “Koncert Fortepianowy”
- “Artyści”
- “Młody Las”
- “Prośba”
The title song “Zbroja,” like “Mury” and “Obława,” became one of the unofficial anthems of Solidarity and of the opposition to the government of the Polish People's Republic and to communism. It is also one of Kaczmarski's most popular songs. The concert program will be rounded out by the most important and most widely sung songs by this author from the martial law period.
The evening of musical memories will be led by:
- Przemysław Lembicz (ex Kwartet ProForma) – guitar, vocals
- Witold Łuczyński (Trio łódzko-Chojnowski) – guitar, vocals
- Artur Kępka – piano, vocals
