Rafał Rutkowski will perform at the Bogatyński Ośrodek Kultury in Bogatynia with his show “Time Machine”. It is his fourth solo programme, in which he travels through time and, in his own style, juxtaposes the present with the past.
The show asks whether things were better in the past and whether we are living in the best of times. Rutkowski also wonders whether artificial intelligence is humanity's hope or the beginning of its end, how much technology has changed us, whether we are smarter than our ancestors, and whether human stupidity is getting better.
The artist also returns to his childhood in the PRL and recalls the absurdities of those times:
He will also tell the story of his first trip “to the West” and of flirting long-distance with his Swedish wife. He will reveal how he impressed a girl with aerobatic flying and how he used contraception in Belarus.
Practical information: the performance is intended for viewers aged 16 and over. Phones must be switched off or silenced during the show. Audio and video recording is prohibited, and flash photography is not allowed. The organiser may remove people who disrupt the performance, without refunding the ticket. The performance may be recorded, and purchasing a ticket means consent to the use of your image.
