“The Birth of a Lady”

“The Birth of a Lady” is a musical show in which music, dance, stage art, costumes and set design draw on the atmosphere of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The performance will be held on 10 December 2026 at 18:00 at the Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury (Sala FORUM) in Bolesławiec. The event was previously announced as “My Fair Lady”. The change was made for reasons beyond the organizer's control.

The story is about people, emotions and relationships that are not always simple. It explores encounters, infatuations, disappointments and hope, all unfolding to the rhythm of music and dance. The programme includes pieces from three areas:

• musicals,
• operettas,
• well-known music standards.

The visual design is an important part of the show. Original costumes and set design have been created specifically for this production. The costumes reflect the character of the era and the aesthetics and details of each figure, and beyond their visual role, they help build the narrative. Together with the set, they create the space in which the story unfolds. Music, movement, set and costumes are meant to make the audience part of the world created on stage.
