“The Time Machine” is the fourth solo show by Rafał Rutkowski. In it, the cabaret performer travels through time and, in his own way, juxtaposes the present with the past. Along the way, he asks: Was everything better in the past, or are we living in the best times right now? Is artificial intelligence humanity's hope or the beginning of its end? How much has technology changed us? Are we smarter than our ancestors? And is human stupidity doing better than ever?
Rutkowski also looks back at his childhood in the People's Republic of Poland and recalls the absurdities of those times:
He also talks about his first trip “to the West” and about flirting long-distance with his Swedish wife. He reveals how he impressed her with aerobatics and how he used contraception in Belarus.
