On November 22, three artists will perform at Stary Klasztor (Sala Witrażowa): dancer Lucía Mantovani, cantaor Borja Soto, and guitarist José Ismael Sierra. In the concert “Voice, Guitar, Dance,” they will present flamenco puro, an art form in which singing, dance, and guitar build a story full of expression and passion. Every gesture, phrase, and heel strike is part of a conversation created live on stage.
Flamenco puro (literally “pure flamenco”) is traditional flamenco, close to its Andalusian roots. Emotion, rhythm, and the relationship between the performers matter most. Even when a piece has a set form, its energy is created in the moment. The guitar follows the singing and dance, the cantaor (singer) responds to the movement of the bailaora (dancer), and the zapateado (footwork) acts as another instrument. The audience will therefore see not only a finished performance but also the process of the artists communicating with one another.
