When the Cat's Away

“When the Cat’s Away…” is a British situation comedy, coming to the Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury in Bolesławiec on 26 November 2026 at 7:00 p.m. The title cat may turn up at the least expected moment, and then the action picks up pace and the audience's laughter may get out of hand. The characters are two English couples, married for twenty years. They set off on a honeymoon to Saint-Tropez, even though they are celebrating their twentieth wedding anniversary. The play raises questions such as: - how to cope with constant sniping at each other, - how to rekindle passion in a clumsy husband, - how this husband tries to keep up with his sex-addict brother-in-law, - how to impress a pretentious, wealthy sister without killing her with smoked salmon, - whether a toilet brush bearing the image of the royal couple can help a 20-year-old woman with suicidal thoughts. As the description promises, the answers may be absurdly surprising. Creative team: - direction: Andrzej Rozhin, - set and costume design: Joanna Pielat-Rusinkiewicz, - translation: Klaudyna Rozhin, - music arrangement: Agnieszka Putkiewicz. Practical information: the performance runs for over 2 hours.
