Zakopower Carols

A carol evening featuring Zakopower and Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka's Kapela, two separate concerts that intertwine over one evening.

The programme includes traditional Polish carols and Podhale pastorałki, but not only in classic renditions. Pieces in a traditional, highlander, acoustic sound (violins, Podhale basses, dudy) are paired with energetic, modern arrangements. The audience can sing along with Sebastian and his bandmates to popular carols and also hear how carolling was and still is done in Podhale.

Songs include:

• “Gdy się Chrystus rodzi”,
• “Przybieżeli do Betlejem”,
• “Lulaj że mi lulej”, known from Ewa Bem's performance in the film “Miś”,
• “Będzie kolęda” by Skaldy, known from radio broadcasts,
• “Feliz Navidad”.

The evening is meant to bring listeners into a festive, Christmas Eve mood.
