A hill 670 m above sea level in the Owl Mountains with natural monuments - a gneiss boulder and the Sępik rock.
Babi Kamień is a hill 670 m above sea level in the Owl Mountains, in the Central Sudetes, located about 2.9 km north of the centre of Walim.
The summit is built of Precambrian biotite gneisses and granites with pegmatites, covered on the slopes by younger Pleistocene deposits. Characteristic of this place are two rock formations recognised as natural monuments: the gneiss boulder that gives the hill its name, and the Sępik rock.
Babi Kamień forms a small ridge with a level summit line, with steep slopes on the north-eastern and south-western sides descending into the neighbouring valleys. It lies between the Jaworznik and Michałkowa ridges in the Owl Mountains range.
The summit is covered by spruce forests and mixed forests dominated by beech, with meadows, pastures and traces of old field boundaries lower down. The hill offers wide views of the surrounding peaks and villages. There is currently no marked, maintained trail through here - until the 1950s a red trail ran here towards Wielka Sowa. Access is possible from the hamlet of Toszowice.
Nearby, in the Owl Mountains, rises the highest peak of the range - Wielka Sowa. Not far away stands Grodno Castle, and among the surrounding hills is Włodarz.
