About Chełmiec Mały

A summit 776 m above sea level in the Wałbrzych Mountains, in the Chełmiec Massif, west of Wałbrzych, the smaller neighbour of the main Chełmiec.

Chełmiec Mały is a summit 776 metres above sea level in the Wałbrzych Mountains, in the Central Sudetes, west of the centre of Wałbrzych. It is a separate rise within the Chełmiec Massif, smaller than the main summit of Chełmiec, which it neighbours.

An outgrowth of the main massif

Chełmiec Mały rises from the south-western slope of Chełmiec, forming with it a small ridge ending at the Mniszek rise. It has steep slopes and a flat, clearly marked domed top.

Geology

The rise is built of Carboniferous deposits - greywackes, conglomerates, sandstones and clay shales - cut through by numerous veins of Permian rhyolites and melaphyres of volcanic origin. The whole is covered by mixed forest typical of the lower montane zone.
