A post-war filial church from 1945 in Lower Silesian Głogówko, built of wood and plaster, with a brick bell tower.
The church in Głogówko, a village in the Kotla municipality in Głogów County, was built in 1945 on the initiative of the residents of Głogówko and neighbouring Kulów. Sources describe it as dedicated to Our Lady Queen of Poland - it is the same church that the portal's database records as the Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa.
The church was built with a simple, rectangular shape of wood and plaster, to which a five-storey brick tower serving as a bell tower was added. The main entrance is on the ground floor of the tower, and on its fourth storey hangs a bell with dates from the First World War period.
The church was built immediately after the end of the war under the direction of Father Władysław Łętkowski, the parish priest at the time. It was built through the grassroots initiative of the residents of Głogówko and Kulów, and was gradually modernised in later years.
The wooden main altar holds a painting of the Mother of God bought in 1952 during a pilgrimage to Częstochowa. In 2005 parishioners set up an additional altar in the church dedicated to Pope John Paul II.
The church serves as a filial church belonging to the parish of St Martin in Kotla, in the Sława deanery. It remains active as a place of worship.
