An active neo-Gothic auxiliary church from 1869 on plac Piastów in Twardogóra, with a historic Schlag & Söhne organ.
The Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Twardogóra is a Roman Catholic auxiliary church belonging to the parish of Our Lady Help of Christians. It stands on plac Piastów and is active, hosting among other things all-day adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The church was built in 1869 as a parish church, of unrendered brick, in the neo-Gothic style. The interior was painted in 1965, and the exterior elevations were renovated in 1972-73. Among residents the church has become known as the "little church".
The building has a single nave and a single tower. The interior contains three altars.
The organ was built in 1903 by the firm Schlag & Söhne as opus 648: the instrument has 15 stops spread across two manuals and a pedal, and its case is neo-Gothic, single-section and tripartite. The organ was renovated in 1972-73, and in 2008 a further renovation was carried out, installing an electric blower and a pneumatic playing action.
