A neo-Gothic parish church from 1866 in Chocianów, run by Salesian priests, listed in the voivodeship register of heritage sites.
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chocianów is an active parish church from the second half of the 19th century, run for several decades by Salesian priests.
The church was built in 1866; on the same day - 22 May - the parish of Chocianów was also established, separated from the parish in Sobin. After the Second World War the church was renovated, and since 1951 it has been cared for by Salesian priests.
The building has a projecting frontage and a ridge turret covered with a metal helm roof. The elevation is two-coloured, with clear architectural divisions, and the chancel has a polygonal end.
The interior is covered by a ceiling with a dormer above the nave, and there is a gallery at the front elevation. The decoration is in the neo-Gothic style: it includes three altars, a pulpit, an organ case, Stations of the Cross and stained-glass windows.
The church is under conservation protection and listed in the voivodeship register of heritage sites - this is a record, not the heritage register itself.
