A postmodern parish church in the Nowy Otok housing estate in Oława, consecrated in 2007.
The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary the Queen stands in the Nowy Otok housing estate in Oława and is the parish church belonging to the Roman Catholic parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary the Queen.
The building has a postmodern form and was erected in the 1990s. The church was consecrated on 22 August 2007.
The building was not created as a parish church from the outset. It originally operated as a private chapel dedicated to Our Lady Queen of the Universe of God's Peace and was a meeting place for followers of the visionary Kazimierz Domański. Between 1999 and 2005 it belonged to the Society of the Holy Spirit in Oława, and in 2005 it passed into the ownership of the Roman Catholic Church. It was given the status of a parish church two years later, in 2007, and has served this function ever since.
Nowy Otok lies within Oława, near other religious buildings in the town, including the Church of St Joseph the Betrothed of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Oława. Nearby are also the Sobieski Castle in Oława and the WENA Motoring Museum.
