A Neo-Gothic parish church from 1859-1864 in Chrząstawa Wielka, entered on the heritage register, with interior furnishings by Ferdinand Winter.
The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chrząstawa Wielka is an active parish church in the Czernica municipality, erected in the Neo-Gothic style in the mid-19th century.
The church was built in 1859-1864 to a design by the architect Alexis Langer. The building has two tall towers reaching 60.55 metres, decorated with pinnacles, characteristic of the Neo-Gothic style drawing on medieval architectural tradition.
In 1914 restoration works on the church were completed. In 1945 the church was devastated during the war, and in 1957 it was renovated. A further, this time extensive, renovation of the interior was carried out in 1994.
The interior holds three altars by Ferdinand Winter, including the main altar made of polychrome wood. The side altars are dedicated to St Philomena and St John Nepomucene. The church contains fourteen Stations of the Cross and a sandstone font, also painted by Winter.
The church is entered on the heritage register under number A/1185/665/W, the entry made on 8 May 1992.
A few kilometres from the church lie other places worth visiting in the Czernica municipality.
