The Convent of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Krzydlina Mała, founded in 1861, today a multifunctional care facility, formerly a school for girls.
The Convent of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Krzydlina Mała, in Wołów County, is a religious community that for over a hundred years ran a school for girls here, and today operates as a multifunctional care facility.
The convent was founded in 1861, when the first Sisters of Notre Dame arrived in Krzydlina Mała. Construction was supported by a foundation established in 1856 by the priest Dominik Jäschke.
The school building for girls was completed on 12 November 1927. In 1933 it had 25 pupils. The school operated until 1940, when it was closed by the Nazi authorities.
From 1950 the facility was nationalised and run as a state kindergarten. Only in 1994 did the state return management to the sisters, and the building began operating as the Wiosna Children's Home. Since 2003 it has functioned as a multifunctional care facility.
