Czerniak is a peak 557 metres above sea level in the northern part of the Góry Ołowiane (Lead Mountains), part of the Kaczawa Mountains, above the village of Kaczorów.
The hill is built of greenstone and greenstone schists, which form small rock formations on its slopes.
Czerniak marks the end of a short ridge running north from Ołowiana, which it neighbours within the same part of the Kaczawa Mountains.
In this part of the Kaczawa Mountains it is also worth seeing Bolczów Castle and the Góra Miłek nature reserve.
