A pair of twin post-war teaching buildings of Wrocław University of Science and Technology on Plac Grunwaldzki in Wrocław.
The D1 and D2 building complex of Wrocław University of Science and Technology is a pair of twin teaching buildings in the Plac Grunwaldzki estate in Wrocław, belonging to Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
The design for the complex was created in 1948-1950, and its authors were Tadeusz Brzoza and Zbigniew Kupiec. The buildings themselves were erected in 1950-1955. The style of the buildings references the then-dominant doctrine of socialist realism, though this reference is considered superficial - more clearly visible are references to Polish, classicising modernism of the 1930s.
D1 and D2 are two free-standing, twin buildings, between which a representative entrance to the university grounds was created from the side of the square. Building D1 has the address Plac Grunwaldzki 13, and building D2 - Plac Grunwaldzki 9.
These were among the first buildings erected after the Second World War in the area of Plac Grunwaldzki. Today they are listed in the municipal register of monuments.
