The ruin of a Prussian fort from 1790-1795 in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, abandoned in 1806 and demolished towards the end of the 19th century.
Fort Wilhelma is the ruin of a Prussian fort in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, built on the order of Frederick William II, near the villages of Huta and Wójtowska Równia.
The fort was built between 1790 and 1795, to a design by the engineer Captain Ludwig Müller. It was meant to secure the border of Silesia against Austria.
The fort played no significant role during the Napoleonic Wars. It was abandoned in 1806 and gradually fell into ruin. It was demolished towards the end of the 19th century, and the stone obtained from it was used in 1875 to build a railway viaduct and a school in nearby Bystrzyca Kłodzka.
Today only the outlines of the rampart, a partly filled-in moat and fragments of walls have survived. The ruins are overgrown with dense spruce forest.
