About Gać Palace

An 18th-century palace in Gać together with the buildings of a former manor farm, listed in the heritage register.

Gać Palace was built in the 18th century and, together with the buildings of a former manor farm, forms a residential and farm complex listed in the heritage register. The palace itself is listed under number A/3989/1590 (entered in 1966), and the whole complex under number A/3988/728 (entered in 1997).

Manor farm complex

Besides the palace, the complex includes a dwelling house in the building of a former distillery, a second dwelling house, an outbuilding, a cowshed, two barns, a granary, pigsties and an ice house, as well as the walls of a former enclosure and the area of former gardens with trees surrounding the manor. The complex was significantly rebuilt in the 19th and 20th centuries, so the present form of the buildings is the result of successive renovations rather than uniform 18th-century construction.

Practical information

  • Location: the village of Gać, Oława County
  • In the same village, close by, stands the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Gać; this is a separate site, easy to confuse with the palace when planning a visit
  • What to expect: a site listed in the heritage register as a former manor farm complex; the sources do not state whether the interiors are open to visitors or who currently manages the grounds, so it is best to check accessibility on site or at the municipal office
