About Gozdawa Palace

A palace from 1861 in the village of Gozdawa in the Środa Śląska municipality, a former property of Baron von Bock.

Gozdawa Palace stands in the village in the Środa Śląska municipality, in Środa Śląska county. It was built in 1861, a date that can still be read on the cartouche above the main entrance. Between 1866 and 1872 the estate was owned by royal chamberlain Baron von Bock. The available sources do not confirm who uses the palace today or how, so anyone considering a visit should bear in mind that it is a private property, seen only from the outside.

A frontage with a heraldic cartouche

A distinctive feature of the palace is the projection topped with a triangular pediment, which houses an arched niche with the main entrance. Above the entrance is a cartouche with two coats of arms and the date of construction - 1861. The palace together with its surrounding park forms a palace complex listed on the heritage register: the palace in 1981, the park in 1985.

Nearby: Środa Śląska and neighbouring palaces

Gozdawa lies a few kilometres from Środa Śląska, where you can see the Regional Museum in Środa Śląska and the palace in Środa Śląska. Within a few kilometres stand other landed residences of the region, including Chwalimierz Palace and Juszczyn Palace, which makes it possible to plan a longer route around the palaces of Środa Śląska county.
