A ruined neo-Gothic palace from the first half of the 19th century, surrounded by a historic landscape park, in the village of Milikowice.
Milikowice Palace stands in a village in the Jaworzyna Śląska municipality, in Świdnica County. It was built in the first half of the 19th century as a two-storey building on a rectangular plan, in the neo-Gothic style - probably in the 1830s.
In the second half of the 19th century the palace underwent rebuilding, as a result of which it lost some of its original neo-Gothic stylistic features.
The building stands in ruins. Sources do not state who currently manages the site or whether any conservation works are underway, so entering the interior is not safe, and it is worth checking the site's condition before a planned visit.
The palace forms part of a larger estate with a landscape park, created in the 1830s over an area of 16 hectares, on a roughly triangular plan, near the road to Mokrzeszów. The romantic layout of greenery has numerous avenues and water features, and among the tree stand there are species protected as natural monuments. The grounds of the former kitchen garden have also survived. The park is considered one of the more interesting of its kind in this part of Silesia.
In Świdnica, a few kilometres away, stands the Church of Peace, and the town is also home to the Museum of Railways in Silesia.
