About Narożnik

A rocky peak in the Table Mountains (849 m above sea level) with over a hundred climbing routes and a viewpoint.

Narożnik is a peak in the Table Mountains (Góry Stołowe) with an elevation of 849 metres above sea level, known above all as one of the region's major climbing spots. It lies to the south-east of Lisia Przełęcz (Fox Pass), which separates it from the Skalniak massif.

Geology and vegetation

The peak is built of upper block sandstone, the youngest rock layer of the Table Mountains. It is covered by a spruce forest typical of the lower montane zone, and towards the west and south Narożnik drops away in vertical rock walls.

Climbing

It is precisely these vertical walls that have made Narożnik one of the more popular climbing spots in the Table Mountains. Over a hundred climbing routes have been set out here, placing the peak among the more important rock-climbing areas in the region.

View from the summit

The summit of Narożnik is also a viewpoint. It offers a panorama of the Table Mountains, the Duszniki Depression, the Bystrzyckie Mountains and the Orlickie Mountains, which makes it a destination also for visitors with no interest in climbing.

Trail

A blue tourist trail linking Duszniki-Zdrój with Karłów runs over the peak. This makes it possible to climb Narożnik as part of a longer route through the Table Mountains, without having to plan a separate trip just for this peak.

Nearby

Other peaks and attractions of the region lie close by, including Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały. A little further towards Kudowa-Zdrój is the Skull Chapel in Czermna, while closer to the peak, on the other side of Lisia Przełęcz, lies Skalniak.
