A 19th-century fountain with a sculpture of Neptune on plac Ratuszowy in Jelenia Góra, commemorating the city's former trade relations.
The Neptune Fountain in Jelenia Góra stands on plac Ratuszowy, on the site of a former town well. The sculpture of the god of the seas recalls the city's trading past.
The fountain was built in the 19th century and commemorates the old, good trade relations of Jelenia Góra's merchants with overseas countries. The figure of Neptune refers precisely to these maritime trade routes, even though the city itself lies inland, at the foot of the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains).
