An ombrogenic peat bog in the Table Mountains National Park with rare flora and a 400-metre educational trail.
Niknąca Łąka is an ombrogenic peat bog at an altitude of 720 metres, in the Valley of Red Waters east of Karłów, within the Table Mountains National Park.
Rare species grow on the meadow: bog pine, sundew, cloudberry and peat mosses. Until 1993 the area was protected as a separate nature reserve; it is now part of the national park.
In the 19th and 20th centuries, land drainage and spruce planting were carried out here, causing degradation of the peat bog habitat.
A 400-metre educational trail with information boards describing the formation of the bog and its vegetation runs through the area.
Nearby lie Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały (Errant Rocks), and a little further on the Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki-Zdrój and Duszniki-Zdrój itself. Along the way you can also stop at the shrine in Wambierzyce.
