A parish Orthodox church in Samborz near Wrocław, built between 2015 and 2016 and consecrated in 2018.
The Orthodox Church of St Paraskeva in Samborz is a parish Orthodox church belonging to the Wrocław deanery of the Wrocław-Szczecin diocese of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
Between 1954 and 2016 the parish used a former Protestant chapel with a floor area of only 13 square metres, housed in a residential building from the early 20th century, with a small dome and modest fittings. Construction of a free-standing church began in 2015, and by September 2016 the building already stood in shell form.
On 18 September 2016 the Divine Liturgy was celebrated for the first time in the new church, although assembling the fittings, including icons for the iconostasis, took longer still. In April 2017 two six-armed crosses were placed on the building and a bell was installed, and a metal fence was put up around the plot. The church was consecrated on 2 June 2018 by Archbishop Jerzy of Wrocław and Szczecin.
