Ostrosz is a summit 462 metres high in the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains), specifically in the Karkonosze Foothills, rising above Sobieszów near Jelenia Góra.
Ostrosz occupies the north-easternmost peak of the ridge running from Grzybowiec, in the same range as Trzmielak and Sobiesz. Though not high, it has a narrow ridge and steep slopes on the north-western and south-eastern sides, which sets it apart from the gentler neighbouring hills.
A blue tourist trail linking Sobieszów with Grzybowiec runs over the summit of Ostrosz, so the peak can be ticked off along the way on a longer route through the Karkonosze Foothills. The hill is built of Karkonosze granite, and its slopes are covered by lower montane forest.
Ostrosz lies close to Sobieszów, from where it is a short distance to Chojnik Castle on the summit of Chojnik, as well as to the Szklarka Waterfall and the Norwegian Park in Cieplice.
