A historic residential tower from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries in the village of Pastuchów in Świdnica County.
The Pastuchów Tower is a historic residential tower in the village of Pastuchów in Świdnica County, in the Jaworzyna Śląska municipality, on the Strzegomka river. The building can only be viewed from outside, by the village's main road.
The tower was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, by the von Kalkreuth family. In 1565 Caspar von Kalkreuth and Margareta Landskronin von der Lederhose carried out a Renaissance rebuilding, adding a manor house and farm buildings. The structure has a rectangular plan measuring 10.4 by 8.9 metres, a gabled roof, and a spiral staircase set in a recessed bay window.
The estate passed into the hands of the von Kalkreuth family as early as 1393, when it changed hands from the Bolcz family. Between 1743 and 1835 the tower belonged to the Hochberg family of Książ, and later to the von Kramsta and von Wettersheim-Kramsta families, who held it until 1945.
The residential tower has been entered in the heritage register under number A/4488/963 since 13 November 1961, and the former manor house under number A/4489/938/WŁ since 28 August 1983; the farm building with its garden was additionally entered on 1 July 1999. The building was renovated in 1935 and 1965. For a dozen or so years the tower has been privately owned, standing empty and somewhat neglected, while the former manor farm operates as a private agribusiness.
