Płonik is a peak 682 metres above sea level, located south of Przesieka, in the central part of the Intra-Sudetic Depression of the Karkonosze.
The hill is built of Karkonosze granite. South of the summit there are individual granite rock formations, visible amid the surrounding forest.
Two marked hiking trails pass through Płonik: the blue trail, running from Przesieka to the Karkonosze Pass, and the yellow trail, running from Przesieka via Borowice.
Other destinations for trips also lie nearby in the Karkonosze range, including Chojnik Castle and the granite formations of the Silesian Stones.
