A baroque palace from 1713-1730 on an artificial island on the Lusatian Nysa river, currently under renovation.
A baroque palace in the village of Radomierzyce in Zgorzelec County, listed in the register of immovable monuments of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Construction of the palace on an artificial island surrounded by a double loop of the Lusatian Nysa river began in 1713 on the order of Joachim Zygmunt von Ziegler-Klipphausen. The designers were Johann Friedrich Karcher and Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. Construction was completed in 1722, and the finishing and decoration of the interiors continued until 1730. The heritage register dates the building to the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.
The palace was built in the baroque style, on a plan close to the letter H, with shorter side wings on the southern side. The walls were built of brick. A park and a garden were laid out on both sides during construction.
In 1945 the palace was vandalised and looted. A later owner intended to open a hotel and conference centre in it, but died in 2003 before the plans came to fruition. The building is currently owned by the company Gerda and is under renovation.
