About Radziechów Castle Ruins

Overgrown remains of a 16th-century stone castle in the village of Radziechów in Złotoryja County.

Radziechów Castle Ruins are the remains of a stone defensive building in the village of Radziechów, in the Zagrodno municipality, Złotoryja County.

History of the castle

The castle, known in German as Schloss Märzdorf, was built of stone, probably in the 16th century. It was originally surrounded by a moat. On 31 March 1931 its furnishings were put up for auction in Berlin, which shows that the building remained inhabited and furnished for centuries.

Current condition

Several cellar rooms covered with barrel vaults, along with fragments of walls, survive from the former complex. The whole is a ruin overgrown with bushes and grass, without a roof and without any tourist facilities. There are no conditions here for visiting the interior.

Nearby

Within a few kilometres lie other historic residential complexes: Grodziec Castle, Osetnica Palace and Groble Manor.
