St Edith Stein Park

Wrocław
About St Edith Stein Park

An intimate park in Ołbin separated in 2011, with the historic church of St Michael the Archangel on its grounds.

St Edith Stein Park lies in Wrocław's Ołbin district, between ulica Nowowiejska, ulica kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego, ulica Bolesława Prusa and ulica Błogosławionej Edyty Stein. It is a younger neighbour of the green area well known in the city centre, separated from the larger park relatively recently.

Where the name comes from and when it was created

The park was separated from Stanisław Tołpa Park by a resolution of the Wrocław City Council of 17 March 2011. Its patron is St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, better known as Edith Stein.

A church within the park

A church of St Michael the Archangel stands within the park, listed in the heritage register. Before that, until 1529, the abbey of St Vincent on Ołbin stood on the same site.
