Stanisław Staszic Park

Wrocław
About Stanisław Staszic Park

A roughly 5.5-hectare park in Wrocław's Nadodrze estate, laid out on the site of a former horse market.

Stanisław Staszic Park lies in Wrocław's Nadodrze estate and covers about 5.5 hectares. It was created between 1905 and 1908 on the site of a former horse market, known as Rossplatz.

Origin of the name

The park's current name has been in use since 1993, based on a resolution of the Wrocław City Council concerning the names of parks and wooded areas existing in the city.

Shape and boundaries

The park has a triangular shape. To the west it is bordered by Pomorska street, along which trams and buses run, to the east by Ludwika Rydygiera street with a separate tram line, and to the north by Stanisława Staszica square. At the north-eastern edge of the park, by Powstańców Wielkopolskich square, stands the Wrocław Nadodrze railway station along with a bus stop.

Practical information

  • The park lies in the Nadodrze estate, between Pomorska street, Ludwika Rydygiera street and Stanisława Staszica square.
  • Access is made easier by the proximity of Wrocław Nadodrze station and the tram and bus lines running along both bordering streets.
  • This is a small neighbourhood park, a good spot for a short walk when arriving by train at Nadodrze, on the way for example to the Tumski Bridge or the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław.
