A landscape park in the Ołbin district of Wrocław with a pond, an artificial mound, playgrounds and a dog run.
Stanisław Tołpa Park lies in Wrocław, in the Ołbin district, in the area of Nowowiejska, Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego and Bolesława Prusa streets. It used to be called Nowowiejski Park, and was given its present name, commemorating Stanisław Tołpa, in 2005.
The park has a landscape character, so it features elements typical of this style: grassy meadows and an artificial mound in the north-western part. There is also a pond with an islet, a remnant of the former Ołbin branch of the Oder, one of the river's historic channels that once flowed through this part of the city.
Children's playgrounds and a dog run have been built in the park, making it a place visited both by families with children and by owners of dogs living in the area.
The Church of St Michael the Archangel and the Faculty of Architecture of Wrocław University of Science and Technology stand by the park. It is a short walk from here to the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław and the Archcathedral of St John the Baptist, and across the Oder, on the far side of Tumski Bridge, Wrocław's Ostrów Tumski begins.
