A synagogue in Strzelin dating from 1815 on Pocztowa Street, destroyed during the Second World War after Kristallnacht.
The synagogue in Strzelin stood on today's Pocztowa Street, formerly the German Zwingerstrasse, close to the post office building. It was built in 1815 for the local Jewish community.
On 9 November 1938, during Kristallnacht, the synagogue was damaged. After that event the building was converted into the seat of the National Socialist Motor Transport Corps. The building was destroyed during the Second World War.
Available sources do not state whether any fragment of the building has survived or what the site on Pocztowa Street looks like today. Anyone wanting to see traces of Strzelin's Jewish history can visit the Jewish cemetery in Strzelin, less than one and a half kilometres away.
