A palace from 1885 in Legnica County, today the seat of the Centaurus Foundation and its farmstead for rescued animals.
The palace in Szczedrzykowice, in the municipality of Prochowice in Legnica County, has belonged to the Centaurus Foundation since 2012 and serves as the seat of a farmstead caring for rescued animals. This is a rare case on this list: the site now has an active custodian and can be visited, though not as an ordinary tourist attraction - only by prior arrangement.
The palace was built in 1885 for Gottfried Schneider, the owner of the village at the time. On 30 December 2012 the building's roof burned down; it was rebuilt in 2014. The palace is listed on the heritage register under number A/3337/729/L (entry of 26 June 1986), and the surrounding park under number A/3338/454/L (entry of 17 July 1976).
In September 2012 the Centaurus Foundation bought the former farmstead together with the 19th-century palace standing on its grounds. The foundation works to protect animal rights and to promote hippotherapy and animal-contact therapies, and it runs an Animal Farmstead on site, where visitors can meet the animals under its care. The foundation also organises open days on the farmstead grounds.
