A viewpoint in Jeżów Sudecki, the cradle of Polish gliding, with a panorama of the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains) and the Jelenia Góra Basin.
Szybowcowa Mountain in Jeżów Sudecki is a viewpoint linked to the history of Polish gliding, with a panorama of the Jelenia Góra Basin and the surrounding mountain ranges.
The famous Grunau Baby glider was built on this mountain. It was here that the legendary pilot Hanna Reitsch began her flying career. From 1946 the Jelenia Góra Aero Club operated here, training glider pilots, powered paraglider pilots and model builders.
From the summit there are views of the Jelenia Góra Basin, the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains), the Rudawy Janowickie and the Izera Mountains.
An asphalt road leads directly to the summit, and a walking trail from Zabobrze takes about an hour.
Towards Jelenia Góra, a few kilometres away, are the castle gate tower and the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, among others.
