A peak in the Kaczawskie Mountains near Wojcieszów, with the ruins of a 17th-century gallows on the neighbouring saddle.
Trzciniec is a peak in the Kaczawskie Mountains, in the northern part of the Eastern Ridge, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, near Wojcieszów. It reaches a height of 484 metres above sea level.
The peak is built of early Palaeozoic metamorphic rocks of volcanic origin - greenstones and greenschists - and of sedimentary origin, that is phyllites and albite-sericite schists. It also contains inserts of marbles, meaning crystalline, calcite and dolomite limestones.
Trzciniec closes off from the east a ridge running from Bukowinka through Marciniec, Rogacz, Dłużek, Chmielarz and Polanka. From Polanka, towards the south-west, a side arm branches off, ending with the peak of Bielec.
The marbles that make up the peak were once extracted in the now disused Gruszka quarry, from which the hill's former name derives. On the saddle between Trzciniec and the neighbouring Polanka (546 m) the ruins of a stone, cylindrical gallows from the 17th century have survived, about 6 metres in diameter.
A few kilometres from the peak is the Góra Miłek Nature Reserve, and a little further the hill Skopiec and the viewpoint Krzyżowa Góra.
