The fourth highest peak of the Rudawy Janowickie, today overgrown and without its former observation tower.
Wielka Kopa is a peak in the Rudawy Janowickie, in the Sudetes, 871 metres above sea level. It is the fourth highest peak of the range, lower only than Skalnik, Dzicza Góra and Wołek, and at the same time the highest peak in the eastern part of the Rudawy Janowickie.
The peak's German name was Scharlachberg. Shortly after the war the names Szarlach and Wielka Góra were also used, before the current name Wielka Kopa became established.
Before 1945 a wooden observation tower 15 metres high stood on the summit. Today no trace of it remains, and the summit itself is almost completely overgrown, so there are no views from it.
Wielka Kopa lies within the boundaries of the Rudawy Landscape Park, the same range in which the nearby Wołek also rises. Two marked trails run over the summit: a green one from Kowary to Marciszów and a yellow one from Kamienna Góra to Janowice Wielkie.
