A park in central Wrocław along the former City Moat, laid out after the demolition of Napoleon's fortifications.
Wolności Square in Wrocław is a park in the city centre, running along the southern stretch of the former City Moat, in the Stare Miasto (Old Town) district.
The park was created after the city's fortifications were demolished on Napoleon's orders in 1810-1812. Greenery was laid out on the site of the former fortifications, and it still runs along the moat today.
The square's grounds span the space between Świdnicka and Krupnicza streets, along the Promenada Staromiejska (Old Town Promenade). The Kładka Sądowa (Court Footbridge) links it with Podwale street on the other side of the moat, and Zamkowa street links it with Kazimierza Wielkiego street, the W-Z route.
